Michel (Mike) Sansovich’s unique upbringing and experiences brought him down an untraditional path leading to ArchBuilt,Inc. Mike grew up in the culturally unique “Cajun country” of Lafayette and historic New Orleans, Louisiana. Every weekend his parents would bring him to famous plantations, art galleries, and auction houses throughout the south. His family enjoyed fine art, furniture, mechanics, architecture, and it inadvertently inspired Mike to become an Architect. Mike followed the tutelage of his father and worked tirelessly in learning every skill of construction for home projects and maintenance. His dad did not believe in calling a handyman, electrician, painter, or plumber, when he had a perfectly good son that could take care of it.
Mike learned as a young entrepreneur cutting grass and maintaining yards during summers that you should always deliver more than you charge. He also learned that your word is your bond, and if you show up on time you are late. His parents reinforced these values every day of his childhood.
In Louisiana, Mike developed a love for raw woods and other raw materials. He would go on to receive a 5 year degree in 2003 from a fully accredited, primarily design-oriented, Architecture School - The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
In his early practice in Architectural firms, Mike was bored by simply designing projects. Mike wanted to bring his designs to life with his own hands. He later took a construction job with a contractor and started from the bottom to learn the entire construction process. He found construction to be as fulfilling as design. Eventually, he became a supervisor, foreman and Licensed Contractor where he would be in charge of several large projects at once.
By chance, one day, Mike had an opportunity to design and build a project for a customer. From that moment, marrying his two passions, Mike was hooked on design and build projects for customers. It was the best of both worlds. Mike could conceive it, design it, and actually work with his hands to ensure that it would be perfect according to the design. Several years of working in the field, designing, estimating, building... we now have the man who owns the company ArchBuilt, inc - the perfect symbiosis of Architectual Design – built by the man who designed it.
